Bringing people together when they need it the most

It began as a question, “How can we provide support for patients and families when we can’t actually be together?” After all, people need hope, support, information and resources now more than ever.

The answer is MyHeartVisit®—a way of connecting patients and their families with trained volunteers who truly understand them because they have been there too. You don’t have to walk this journey alone.

Heartline Hotline

If you need to speak to a trained volunteer who is a patient, parent of a child with a heart condition, or a caregiver of loved one with heart disease, call:

If you don’t get someone, please leave us a message so we can get back to you.

What Is a Visit?

Sometimes patients, parents and caregivers need to talk to someone who has already faced a similar diagnosis, procedure or surgery, or has learned to live with heart disease or a congenital heart defect—someone who truly understands them. Now, you can request a “visit” from a trained volunteer who can listen and give support because they are patients, parents and caregivers themselves.

Patients supporting patients and caregivers

The Mended Hearts® Program is made up of patients with different kinds of cardiovascular disease—from heart attack to valve disease, to congenital heart disease to stroke. These patients use their experiences to help other patients like them. Their motto is: It’s great to be alive…and to help others.

Support for Parents & Families

The Mended Little Hearts® program is made up of parents and family members of children with congenital heart defects/disease who want to give back and support other parents through this difficult journey. These parents understand the struggle of having a child in the hospital who needs surgery or medical procedures and the need for support even after that child is home from the hospital, and they are here to support you. Their motto is: Little hearts hold big hopes.

Support for Caregivers

Caring for a spouse, parent, child or loved one with heart disease has its own unique challenges. Our caregivers are here to provide support and a listening ear to others who are caring for someone with cardiovascular disease. Even if you just need someone to talk to, we are here for you.

“I feel the capacity to care is the thing which gives life its deepest significance.”

— Pablo Casals
